Mr. Montero started as an analyst at Celfin Capital in 1993, eventually becoming a partner. After holding various leadership positions in the firm, he was appointed CEO in 2007. In 2012 the firm was sold to BTG Pactual Chile and Mr. Montero was confirmed as CEO. In 2016, he resigned his position and went to reside in France with his family. He became a director of Toesca at the end of 2017 and, in January 2018, he became a partner and shareholder. Mr. Montero studied Business Administration at Universidad Católica de Chile and obtained an MBA from The Wharton School. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
Antonio is the President of the Chilean National Agriculture Society (SNA), a position he has held since 2023, and previously served as Chile’s Minister of Agriculture between 2018 and 2021. He is the founder and General Manager of Wapri, a leading Chilean agribusiness dedicated to fruit production and exports for more than 20 years. Under his leadership, Wapri achieved a historic milestone in 2004 by shipping the country’s 200 millionth fruit box abroad. In addition to his entrepreneurial work, Antonio has been a prominent industry leader in Chile. He was elected President of Fedefruta, the national fruit growers’ federation, serving from 2010 to 2012, and also chaired Fruséptima, which represents producers in the Maule region. He has served as a board member of the National Agriculture Society and is part of the Productivity Commission of the Confederation of Production and Commerce (CPC). Antonio’s career reflects a lifelong commitment to advancing Chilean agriculture, combining his experience as an entrepreneur with his role as a policymaker and industry advocate.
At Astarte, Teresa is responsible for investment and portfolio activities including evaluating, negotiating and structuring investments across sectors. Before co-founding Astarte, she was Head of Private Equity for a multi-family office, where she oversaw the investment strategy and investment selection for fund investments and co-investments. Prior to this, Teresa was CIO for Private Equity at Piraeus Group, where she co-led the establishment of the private equity group, launched three private equity and venture capital funds and developed the group’s strategy in the renewable energy space. Teresa joined Piraeus from UBS Investment Bank in London and New York, where she advised on corporate transactions in the real assets space in the US and Europe and was part of the team that launched the renewable energy practice of UBS globally. Holds a BSc. in Economics and Finance from the University of Athens, Greece and an MBA from Columbia University in New York.
Camillo is an agronomist with a Master’s degree in Enology from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Piacenza, Italy. He currently serves as CEO of AgriChile, part of Ferrero Hazelnut Company—the Ferrero Group division that integrates all of its global hazelnut activities. For more than 30 years, Camillo has led the company and its pioneering project to develop sustainable hazelnut production in Chile. Beyond his leadership at Agrichile, he brings extensive international experience in the agricultural sector, having managed a wide range of projects in different countries.
Martin is the Global Head of Nuveen Natural Capital, the land-based asset management division of Nuveen, and is responsible for over $12B of assets extending to more than 3 million acres in 10 countries globally. Martin's 30 years in the agriculture industry has included posts within corporate agriculture, consultancy and investment. Prior to joining Nuveen Natural Capital in September 2014, he led the deployment of institutional investors’ capital into farmland in New Zealand, Australia, Romania, Poland and Chile for Bank of New York Mellon’s asset management subsidiary Insight Investment. After 13 years with the Cooperative Group Farms in the U.K., his lead into agriculture investing was 5 years spent working on agricultural investment projects for private investors in Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Ukraine. An Agricultural graduate of the University of Reading, Martin was Chairman of the 2017 Oxford Farming Conference. He was a 2006 Nuffield Scholar and is a member of the Institute of Agricultural Management and a Director of Nuffield International.
Juan Pablo is a Commercial Engineer and co-founder of Cabilfrut S.A., a Chilean fruit export company established in 1989, where he currently serves as Chairman of the Board. With more than 35 years of experience in the industry, he has been instrumental in positioning Chilean avocados and other fruits in international markets. He was a founding member of the Chilean Avocado Committee in 1991, serving multiple terms as Director, and in 2002 co-founded the Chilean Avocado Importers Association (CAIA) in the United States, where he continues to serve as a Director.
